Don’t we say we need a huge clear out every season?

West Ham, The DFS of the Premier League

There's only one clear-out which will have any dramatic affect on the club. Pimps (and skank) Out!

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
Exactly Simon.....We need to shift a few...not a huge clearout. I think we should turn attentions to extracting 8/10 performances from all of them consistently rather then just getting rid of half of them and throwing millions at it to try and repair it.

Everyone knows this. Maybe the players will show up for the Stanford Bridge or WHL games. Or maybe not. Nobody seems to be much fussed.

''I don't think I have even been as comfortable when we lose than I have with MP as manager because I know he has the ability to realise what went wrong and resolve it.''

Are you still of that opinion?

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
MP has got to start taking more control of things. We are always going to lose games but for me its the manner of the defeats. Can't think of one defeat this year where we could have gone "Good effort boys, unlucky today". Each tome we lose we are totally and utterly abject shit. And it seems that in the last two months or so MP doesn't seem to be influencing the players as they make the same mistakes time and time again. They don't look interested either.

MP has done more than enough to be in charge next season but something major has to change. He needs to start getting them up for it. They seem to have already switched off bar a few players. Yes, injuries have taken their toll but they don't excuse a lack of fight and determination. Nor do they excuse a lack of organisation and professionalism.

In summer we need huge clear out of dead wood and much higher quality players coming in otherwise we just stand still again.

Said when Lanzini came back he might have a good game or two and then the lack of a preseason will catch up with him.
Utterly anonymous on Saturday and was miles off the pace. Would replace him with Nasri and start working towards getting him ready for next season

Pellegrini reckons Arnie came off with pain in his knee. Maybe just making excuses for him but if he isn’t fit or not staying don’t play him.

As many have said the players take ultimate responsibility for their own (non)performance but the manager has some questions to answer.
You’d expect towards the end of a first season he’d have started to improve us and made some decisions but he keeps making the same mistakes and has some major blind spots.
We are constantly conceding soft goals from balls into the middle and our fullbacks get overlapped constantly so balls are being rolled across the box again and again
Everton probably should have scored about 4 times from that but for Fabianski and some luck.

Rossal 9:38 Mon Apr 1
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
Manager has to take alot of stick for saturday. For the team he picked and for the desire and attitude of the team.

We were dreadful, easily the worst we've played at home this season. Was never in the game, should of been 4-0 down in 20 mins. Closest we came to scoring was when Lanzini didnt shoot on the edge of the box.

Rice and Fabianski only ones again to play half decent.

Thought Cresswell with the armband was terrible. Look at the two Everton full backs and then ours. The amount of times they pass the ball and then run beyond it or end up parallel with the 18 yard box to be an option or deliver a cross and then look at ours who had no impact going forward at all.

Lanzini too was terrible, he is over-rated by our fanbase. Yes he plays well at times, but usually when the team is playing well. When you need someone of his quality to drag us into the game or produce a bit of magic he goes hiding.

Obiang and Perez no clue why they started, Antonio arguably been our most in form attacker this season and he is sat on the bench????

Arnie i dont think was ay worse then the rest of them. Had no service and playing alongside the rebounder net Perez it was always going to be hard to play well as a forward in the first half. In the second he was shifted out wide and spent most of it tracking Coleman. The boos were harsh imo......there was worse out there then him.

Finally i dont get why Pellegrini keeps sticking Snodders out wide, he isnt a winger......has never played well out wide for us. Every time he starts there he gets moved elsewhere because it isnt working and yet Pellers still persists with it. Our front 3 had no pace at the weekend and no wide threat at all or willing to run in behind the full backs.

April looks a very long slog now.....

Rice was the only outfield player who looked like a professional footballer
He and Fabianski played them on their own
Shocking performance all round in every part of the pitch.

Watched this with a Charlton mate who’s a bit of an anorak.

Had to agree it was total shit, hence my lack of football commentary this weekend.

Fuck it, they absolutely raped us down the flanks and our midfield was a joke. Even Rice had a meh game.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
snodgrass does his best work pre match & off the ball...he just struggles when he has to actually receive, pass, head or shoot. probably best if he goes back to his mates at leeds in the summer.

obiang with snodgrass plus rice starting left me thinking oh well at least everton won't score/ nil nil today...disgusting to then see everton ripping us to shreds in the first 45. if obiang and snodgrass can't defend then fck off because they don't do anything else.

would rather lose 2 nil with kids aiming to impress rather than shambles yesterday

In a poll on ClaretandHugh, most went to go for the points rather than give some youngsters a few games.
Holland should of played instead of Obiang,Snodgrass or Perez.
Johnson for Zab too could been an option.
Stretching it a bit that Coventry could of played instead of Obiang and played no worse. How many times did Obiang give the ball away ?
I just don't get Pelligini's trail of thought we his selections.
I could quite easily see us only gaining 4 points from our final games and that's being generous .

Chelsea without hazard are bang average. If we can get the better injured players back and drop the shitbag imposters that surpsingly started yesterday and somehow make them realise they need to fight and give some effort, we can beat them.

@ costa

yes we have to move those players on, bar cresswell maybe. But more importantly, we must not replace with equally poor signings. In last year or so alone, Peres, Wilshere, Hugill have been questionable signings at best. To expect permanently injured, poor championship players or Arsenal rejects to suddenly become fit PL quality signings at Wwst Ham is pure folly. These are not the signings that will take us forward, they are drains on our wage bill that are holding us back, so why on earth do we make them in the first place ?

tonka 4:04 Sun Mar 31
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
Not enough in midfield, huge gaps in the centre of the park and also often 2 v1 out on the wings. Bernard against Zab scared the shit out of me and I've never seen so many byline balls across the box in a Premier League game.
Without any protection or indeed full backs, the two centre-halves were fucked from the outset.
For me, it looked like a collection of average players without any gameplan or confidence. Everton had a strong side, they played to their strengths and our flaws.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
play those mentally broken players, the team is a bottom 6 team. add in the players who were missing (and are new to the club and hence not yet broken) and we become a top 12 team.

why on earth obiang was given another chance yesterday was baffling. not only is he poor, but he was put into rice's position meaning rice had to play noble's. with rice being a central defender who can now play central defensive midfield extremely well, that decision was incredibly illogical. neither performed and we lost the midfield, which overwhelmed the backline. rice was a lot better second half once moved back to his normal position.

obiang, well, meek is the only word.

lastly, why on earth we think we can play with only 2 in midfield at the best of times, let alone against a decent team when we have players missing, is FUCKING MENTAL.

terry-h 1:15 Sun Mar 31
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread
The players should be ashamed of their performance yesterday. Any foreigner watching MOTD would be thinking West Ham were strong relegation candidates, not a middle of the table side. I just don't think Pellegrini has either the capacity or will to change things sufficiently to get us into the top six or seven. There are three strong teams replacing Huddersfield, Fulham and probably Cardiff next season, so it won't be easy to avoid the bottom six with the number of tossers we will still have on our books,

Sullivan,Gold and Brady can go fuck themselves if sufficient transfer funds are not available to whoever manages us next season.
